University Professor
I started my career as a plant taxonomist mainly devoted to the plant genus Veronica L. (Plantaginaceae) and still enjoy a lot collaborating with the project Flora iberica.
Later on, I was somehow naturally extending my interest to other Mediterranean genera and to other areas such as plant evolution, phylogeny, phylogeography and conservation genetics. And ended up (well, this is never-ending, I know) fascinated by an amazing evolutionary process: polyploidy and its ecological and genetic consequences. I am there at the moment, but always stepping forward! SAPERE AUDE.
(P.S. Ssshhh! Don’t tell anybody….but what I still like most is identifying plants and learning on biodiversity, particularly while pedalling my trike)
