Research group on «Biodiversity, Systematics and Conservation of vascular plants and fungi» BIOCONS-University of Salamanca (Spain).

We are a multidisciplinary group of researchers belonging to the areas of Botany, Ecology and Didactics of Experimental Sciences mainly interested in:

• Biosystematics, evolution, phylogeny, ecology and conservation of vascular plants and fungi.
• Primary production and efficiency in the use of resources in Mediterranean trees: differences among species with different leaf longevity and among growth stages within species. Implications of climate change on future distribution patterns.
• Agroecology and conservation of traditional varieties of plants with agronomic interest. Ethnobotany and forestry regulation,  ecotourism, education and environmental awareness.
• DNA banking and characterization of plant genetic resources (wild vascular plants and fungi).
